Your account
Your photo, name, email and password. The business itself lives under Personalization.
Photo
Shows on comments, task cards and the schedule instead of initials.
Profile Information
Update your account's profile information and email address.
Update Password
Ensure your account is using a long, random password to stay secure.
Delete Account
You'll be signed out and unable to log back in. Historical records you're part of — comments, activity, payments — keep showing your name; an admin can restore your account from Employees → Deleted anytime.
Account deletion is disabled on this demo — a real business can delete an account any time.
Personalization
Your business name, timezone, logo, and color theme.
Color theme
Applies for everyone on this business, not just your browser.
Glass Opacity
How see-through the frosted-glass modals and notifications are. Lower is more transparent.
Glass Blur
How much the frosted-glass modals and notifications blur what's behind them. Lower is sharper.
Navigation
Where the main menu sits, for everyone on this business. On a phone the side menu becomes tabs along the bottom.
Business Name & Logo
Shown in the top nav, the browser tab, printed/emailed documents, and customer texts.

Money & Payments
Quote and payment tracking, plus your connected Stripe account for charging customer cards.
Money Tracking
Quotes, payments, and revenue reporting across the whole app. Materials and scheduling aren't affected either way.
Off — quote amounts, balances, and revenue figures are hidden everywhere (Dashboard, Reports, job pages). Job creation still has an optional quote field for your own records; it's saved but shown nowhere.
Sales Tax
One rate for your business. When it's on, quote and invoice lines marked taxable get it added on top — catalog items start out taxable (change any item under Catalog), labor and custom lines don't, and you can flip any line while building. Customers can be marked tax exempt on their profile. Stripe collects it and QuickBooks receives it, so nothing needs re-entering.
Card Payments
Connect your own Stripe account — not ours — so admins and crewed technicians can invoice and charge your customers' cards right from a job, and the money goes straight to you. No API keys, no Stripe dashboard setup — Stripe walks you through everything, and card numbers never touch our servers.
Card payments are disabled on this demo tenant — a real business connects their own Stripe account in a few clicks, no API keys required.
Messaging
Text and email — the accounts that send them, and which events alert your team and customers.
SMS Messaging
Send quotes, invoices, appointment updates, and other service communications to customers by text message.
Messaging setup is disabled on this demo tenant — a real business connects this in seconds, no Twilio account required.
Advanced SMS settings
Which service sends your texts, and your own Twilio account if you'd rather use it.

Scheduling
Buffer time and other rules that shape how appointments get booked.
Scheduling
Minimum gap kept open between a technician's appointments — prevents suggesting or allowing back-to-back bookings with no time to travel between jobs.
Shop Address
Where a technician's day starts and ends by default when the travel-time check above is on — a technician with their own home base set on their employee profile uses that instead, for their own day.
Default working hours
The company's normal week. Every new field employee starts with these hours, so nobody sets seven days by hand for each hire — change a person's own hours on their record any time.
Calendar colors
Give the calendar's colors names that mean something to your team — "Emergency", "Estimates", "Warranty". The name shows wherever a color is picked. Leave one blank to keep its default name.
Snow Removal
The snow season add-on: turn it on, set your tiers and deadlines, and choose when Vane watches the forecast.
Team
Employees, custom roles, and how you organize crews and certifications.
Employees & Roles
Manage the employee directory (every account regardless of role — Admin, technician, or a custom role) and define custom roles like Office Manager or Sales, each with its own set of permissions. What you call technicians — "Installer," "Crew Member," etc. instead of "Technician" — is also renamed from the roles page.
Crews
Turn this on if you organize work around standing crews (e.g. "Team A" is always the same two or three people) rather than always assigning technicians individually. Once on, you can name crews and pick one as a shortcut when scheduling — appointments still assign the actual individual people underneath, so nothing about how scheduling works changes if you turn this back off later.
Certifications
Turn this on if some technicians aren't qualified for every kind of visit (e.g. anyone can do labor, but only certified technicians can do a survey). Once on, mark specific visit types as "Requires certification" from Job Types, then pick who's certified from each technician's own edit page — the scheduling board only offers certified people for those visit types after that.
Time Tracking
Turn this on to let employees clock in/out (with a GPS tag captured at each event, not a live location feed) and give admins a Timesheets view to review, correct, and add entries. Turning it off only hides the clock-in widget and the Timesheets page going forward — it does not delete any existing entries.
Catalog & Inventory
The products, models, and service packages you sell or install, and the stock you keep on hand to do the work.
Product Catalog
Turn this on if you sell or install specific named products, models, or service packages (an AC unit model, an awning system, a pest-control plan). Once on, define your catalog and record which item each customer currently has from their profile — a technician sees it before arriving on site. If you only track simple stocked consumables, leave this off.
Inventory
The stock you keep on hand to do the work — items, quantities, low-stock alerts, and (if you've turned it on) where each item physically is.
Counter sales
For a shop that sells parts over the counter. Each item's page gets a Sell button: how many, how they paid, done, with a receipt to print. No customer or job needed. Every sale is listed under Sales with who sold it, and Reports shows your sales next to your jobs.
Default markup on parts
Any part can be marked up on its own page (its cost stays private; its sale price goes on quotes, invoices and counter sales). Turn this on to mark up every other part by a default percentage too. Leave it off if you bill parts at cost unless you say otherwise.
Chat
Your own chat notifications, alerts on this device, muted threads — and the channels this business runs.
Notifications
What buzzes your devices. Unread badges always show.

Muted threads
Quiet ones don't count toward your badge or buzz you. Mute from a thread's header.
Nothing muted.
Channels
Rooms for the whole business or a slice of it. Everyone and Field crew are built in. Private channels are members-only; archived ones go read-only.

Data Import
Bring your customers over from your previous system or a spreadsheet, and your appointments from Google Calendar.
QuickBooks Online
QuickBooks is disabled on this demo tenant — a real business connects their own QuickBooks Online company in a few clicks, and customers, invoices, payments, refunds and fees sync automatically.
Google Calendar
Google Calendar import is disabled on this demo tenant — a real business connects their Google account (read-only) and walks through their existing appointments one at a time, deciding which customer and which person each one belongs to.
Upload your customer data
Not on QuickBooks? Export your customers from Jobber, Housecall Pro, or any other system, or upload the spreadsheet you keep today. Our team loads it into your account — usually within 48 hours, and during your trial if you're still on one. Customers already in the system aren't duplicated.
File uploads are turned off on this demo — on a real account this is where you'd drop your export.
Click to upload or drag and drop — multiple files at once is fine
.xls, .xlsx, .csv, .pdf, .doc, .docx, .txt — up to 20MB each

Support tickets are disabled on this demo tenant — a real business files a ticket here, follows the conversation with the Vane team, and sees anything still open on its Dashboard.
